BEAT THE COUCH · EMBED

Put the Ledger on Your Site

One line of HTML, and your readers see the live score: every two-year game humans have played against a couch that buys the S&P 500 and never sells. Made for personal finance blogs, investing clubs, teachers' pages and anyone who has ever said “time in the market beats timing the market.”

What it looks like

The code

Paste this where you want the card to appear:

<script src="https://beatthecouch.com/embed.js" async></script>

On a dark page, use the dark version. The same pattern also lets you place the card somewhere other than the script, or show it more than once on a page:

<div data-btc-ledger data-theme="dark"></div>
<script src="https://beatthecouch.com/embed.js" async></script>

The fine print

• No cookies, no storage, no tracking. The card sets nothing in the reader's browser and sends nothing about your page or your reader. Its only request is one read of the public ledger, with no referrer.
• It cannot break your page. The card draws inside its own shadow DOM, so your styles and its styles never touch. If the ledger is unreachable it shows the last numbers we published.
• Free, for any site, commercial or not. Keep the link back to the game; that is the whole price.
• Where it works: any page that allows a script tag (WordPress Custom HTML block, Ghost, Squarespace code block, Webflow embed, plain HTML). Platforms that strip scripts (Substack, Medium, Notion) will not run it; link to the ledger instead.
• The numbers are S&P 500 games only. How they are counted is in the fine print; what LUCKY means is in the monkey audit.
